This Remembrance Sunday we observe the two-minutes silence after hearing again the names of those from our parish who ‘gave their tomorrows for our today’ in the Great Wars. We will remember them. Children will remain in church for the act of remembrance before heading to their groups. Please don’t be anxious if little ones make a noise, we understand, we’re glad they’re present to participate and to learn the significance of the occasion. As we remember the terrible cost of war, we will also reflect together on the hope for peace and safety. With conflict still raging in our world it seems beyond us, but we are not left to our own wisdom, God is the God of peace, who saves and secures. In Jesus he has acted to reconcile the nations in himself, through faith, as witnessed in the church called to follow after him in the way of peace-making.
