Coming Soon……Women’s Breakfast

Come and join us at the women’s breakfast on 15th October where Annie Hughes will be speaking to us. You will receive a warm welcome and a delicious cooked breakfast. There will be a focus on the restoring love that Jesus brings as Annie draws in particular from Psalm 84 v 6  ‘ though they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs’. Annie is a minister’s  wife who has worked as a chaplain within the NHS and is currently with Open Doors, raising awareness of the persecuted church.  With her husband John they have visited many of these areas.
John and Annie enjoy their 11 grandchildren, and Annie loves walking, gardening, reading and enjoying laughter and fun with friends
All are welcome but spaces are limited, so please contact Shirley Moots on O7969 19O 261 by Thursday at the latest.

Latest Prayer and News Letter from our Mission Partners Dave Casson and Lucy Slavin working from St. Peter’s Rockferry

Please click here to view the latest news and prayer update from Dave and Lucy.
It was wonderful to have Lucy with us at our Harvest Supper last weekend speaking about all the ways God is providing for ministry in Rock Ferry. Her testimony is that God always provides for their needs.
They are particularly encouraged by the response to the Holiday Club over the Summer Holidays, the continuing flourishing of The Barn church plant, and the ongoing close relationship with Rockferry Primary School.

September News and Prayer Letter from our Mission Partner – Joshua and Miriam Mbithi at Neema Children’s Home

Please click here for the full text of the latest news and prayer letter from Eldoret, Kenya.
We partner in mission with Joshua and Miriam and it’s easy to think it’s a relationship in which we ‘give’ to them, but reading news from Eldoret each month of their faithful service to God and love of his children gives me so much joy and encouragement.
Please join with us in prayer to uphold Joshua and Miriam and be encouraged by their witness and ministry.

Harvest Supper | Friday 30th September

On Friday 30th September (7pm) we’re having a Harvest Supper together at St. Michael’s, celebrating and giving thanks for God’s good provision!
Please sign up in one of our church buildings this weekend or call our Parish Office to let us know you’re coming! (It will help us to cater better!)
In the Bible (particularly the Old Testament) there is lots of provision made for looking backwards and forwards, marking times, days and seasons. This is because it’s a wonderful thing to do. Harvest is such a time – and if we think more often about God’s goodness we will see more and more of that goodness.
Please do come and share in an evening of thankfulness

Men’s Breakfast | Saturday 17th | 8.45am @ St. Michael’s

We’re looking forward to a great time on Saturday morning sharing a good old cooked breakfast together (all with our own portions!) and hearing from Steve James.
Steve James was vicar of St Andrew’s Bebington and later Holy Trinity Platt in Manchester. Before either of these he did ministry in Canada where he established something of a reputation as a Christian song writer and singer. He plays the guitar.
He and his wife Rachel have retired to the Wirral where they remain active in ministry, including serving on the Word Alive and Keswick Convention teams.
Amongst other things, Steve will be speaking particularly about a bicycle crash in Manchester which left his daughter very badly injured, and how he and his family have lived and worked through the pain of this, and the importance of knowing God’s during this time.

Memorial Service for the life and faith of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

CHRIST CHURCH BARNSTON AT 3.00PM, SUNDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER
We are deeply sorry to hear the sad news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. We thank God for her long life of service, her hard work and love for all throughout the UK, the commonwealth and world – but especially for her deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her race has been completed and she is now at peace with Him.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her grieving family, our nation and the global community, as we all come to terms with the loss of such a loved and unique servant. We are consoled by Her Majesty’s confidence in the steadfast reign of our Lord, who through the merits of His Son, Jesus Christ, brings all His people to share in the kingdom and crown that endures forever

Latest News and Prayer Update from our Mission Partner – Jess Parkhouse, working with CAP Wirral

We had fantastic feedback from the people that attended the CAP Wirral Summer BBQ hosted at Christ Church, and everyone had a good time in the Vicarage Garden.
Jess has recently stepped up to become the Debt Centre Manager working out of Upton. Please pray for her as she begins her new remit and for the following points:
CAP Wirral is currently helping 53 families across the Wirral, with good progress being made helping families becoming debt free & committing to God through local churches.
CAP Wirral are hosting a Befrienders training day on the 15th October; they are currently looking for befrienders who are have mid-week availability. If you are interested in becoming a Befriender or would like more information, please contact Cecelia in the office.
CAP is opening a Wallasey Debt Centre to support families in the area, this has been achieved by a number of Churches in Wallasey working together in raising funds to open a centre with a manager and Life skill coaches.
If you or someone you know feel(s) anxious or worried about managing finances with the increase of cost-of-living (especially forecasted energy price rises), CAP can provide help and advice (online or in person) to support you, please look on the CAP website (capuk.org) or contact 0800 328 0006
