July Update from Sena & Jane

In this July update, Sena and Jane share their encouragements from the recent outreach events for “la fête de la musique”. They write:
“As a church we organised a concert alongside the canal in the city centre. Tom and Joanna from the church led the concert while Nicole organised children’s craft activities. Many non-Christian people attended the concert, and that gave opportunities for church members to have meaningful conversations with them…”

June News and Prayer letter
from John, Zoe, Sadie & Amber

Severe rains here in April resulting in devastating mudslides. This impacted the community heavily with many losing loved ones and material possessions.

They have been invited to become dorm parents for the next school year! which they have accepted and have moved to a new house call “Suni”.

For Prayer: Thank God for calling us to be dorm parents. Thank God that we have had a wonderful first year at RVA. Thank God that we are all well and that our girls are happy. Thank God for our support team who stand with us in prayer and provide finances.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way… The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Isaiah 46:1,2,7

Women’s Breakfast Report

On Saturday, we welcomed Sally Orwin Lee to speak at our Women’s Breakfast.
Following a delicious meal, Sally spoke about how she became involved in biblical counselling through her own personal experience and she talked us through some situations that she has encountered in this role.
It was reassuring to hear that whatever trials we face and situations we find ourselves in God, through his spirit, is at work in us, even if we don’t feel it or recognise it at the time.
He understands our troubles completely and wants us to rest in His strength. It was interesting to hear how biblical counselling has a real part to play in the life of the church and important to remember that God is at work through this valuable role.

The next breakfast is on the 19th of October,
and we look forward to welcoming Mary Lamb as our guest speaker!
Its a great opportunity to bring a friend.

Women’s Breakfast Report

The Women’s Breakfast is proving ever more popular and growing steadily in attendance. Last Saturday morning, following a delicious breakfast, we were encouraged to hear Della Heming speak on John 8 v12 “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Della shared with openness and frankness, that having ‘Christ in me’ has made such a difference in her life. She explained that when we become a follower of Jesus, we have the light of life and that He is our light in dark times”.
She invited us all to pray from the heart that Jesus would come into our lives and gave the assurance that He will hear that prayer – a gift for everybody.
Della also shared photos of her recent trip to Kenya, visiting her family who are our mission partners, Zoe, John, Sadie and Amber in the Rift Valley Academy. It was wonderful to see and hear about God’s provision and blessings upon the family as they serve him out there.

Our next breakfast is 8th June – all are welcome!
